Tourmaline is also magnetic when heated or placed under presssure and can change colors depending on the light sourced used to illuminate it. This gemstone is mined all over the world in places like Brazil, Africa, and the USA to name a few places. In the 1800s it was popularized by Tiffany & Co and was given the name "American Gem".
