Hyalite Opal is primarily made of silica and the word Hyalite means glass-like. What sets Hyalite Opal apart is its ability to glow under ultaviolet light. If placed under a long-wave ultraviolet lamp it glows in a yellow-green hue. It can also glow in the daylight. When the UV rays weaken, the hue can give off more of a greenish glow.
